Pilastro Anniversary with Ronald Prasanto and Muhammad Aga - Medan

This is a very late post due my busy and full time jobs.
I've been there at Pilastro 1st Anniversary last 27 August 2014, and what a big chance that Mr.Ronald Prasanto (the expertise of Indonesia Molecular Gastronomy) and Muhammad Aga (who win second place of IBC 2014).

They were so friendly and welcoming us to the Anniversary event. Some of food blogger also invited such as makanmana , lensa kuliner and some more to attended the event.

We've been invited before the D-day, so we have chance to know these 2 amazing and talented people more better and they also gave us some introductions about coffee, latte, manual brew and also the molecular gastronomy too.

The day before D-day, Mr,Ronald made us a welcoming cakes, actually it wasn't a cake, it was a portion of Bika Ambon (Medan authentic gift) that been added with Nutella, black sesame and grated cheese up there then baked with microwave and the result you'll taste the bika ambon as a "martabak bangka" (click here to see the real one).

(Ronald explained how to made the unusual Martabak Bangka #creative)

After introduced each other, we directly goes to manual brew session/introduction by Ronald himself.
He told us how to taste different sensation from the same coffee bean by using Manual Brew that have been separate into 4 small glass.

Ronald preparing before start to share some of his experience in Manual Brew

Then we've been teach how to differentiate our sense of taste while in hot and in cold one. And I've found that the taste very different, when you drink the hot one, the bitter still present in a cup of coffee but when you drink the cold one, you'll get the more acid taste and almost no bitter in a cup of cold coffee.

Then Aga also showed us some of the attractive latte art and good cup of latte.
I always found out that the usual Barista and professional Barista latte will taste different, the latte art itself too #lols

Taro Latte by Muhammad Aga

I've been teach how to made latte and how to operate the espresso machine by Aga, thanks Aga!

After the introduction and sharing session, Ronald made us try the dragon breath by using popcorn and some Nitrogen liquid that safely to be consume.

The D-Day

It's really full house when the event started, kinda same as when Aji Darius came to Pilastro, but this time more attractive because Ronald shows some magic to the customers that came by.
He shows some awesome fogs that came out from the Nitrogen liquid and gave them try the dragon breath too.

 The Anniversary event begin!

 Looks how serious he is!
I ordered a cup of latte made by Aga, oh.. it's really made my day

Some fellas from Medaneating, Home barista William Iskandar, traditional cake seller "CL-Patisserie", and some new friends from Kover Magz took photos with these two amazing talented people.

Wohoo! the event run so well and it's ended perfectly smooth.
Hope that they will come to Medan and made the crowded event again.
Thanks to Pilastro for invite me!

Have a good coffee everyone #culinarypassiongirl
