India Cuisine "Gitz 88" - Medan

It's truly to be said that Medan was the best known Culinary Town in Indonesia.
And now let me present you about India Cuisine at Gitz'88.

Located at the place that mostly India citizen lived here, we called it "Kampung Keling". It's really easy to find the place, just ask the taxi driver or somebody out there, they'll show you the place.

The area was near the Sun Plaza, mostly know Shopping Mall at Medan.
You can find many India people here and shops that sells India things.

Talking about India, let's turn to the foods. I came here several weeks ago with friend to have a try on Indian foods at Gitz'88.
The restaurant was cozy, clean and of course Indian songs everywhere :)

I enjoyed the ambience here, the india atmosphere and I liked it. Seems like they brought you to India World hahaha....
The foods they served were on the medium price range around Idr 10k - 60k.

First I ordered the Garlic Naan for my appetizer.
What is Naan?
Naan or Nan or Khamiri is a leavened oven-baked flat bread found in the cuisine of West, Central and South Asia. So it's obviously a bread.

The thin and crispy naan with the aroma of garlic was so good, and I'm not felt too much of this. They also gave me the compliment of the non-meat curry for the naan sauce. You should try this one!

For the severe foods me and my friend ordered the Mutton Biryani. As I know Biryani is "a must" order list if you go to India restaurant. As the waitress introduced us the Mutton one, so we choose that one.
Tasted so great and the rice mixed perfectly with the spices. Then what is Biryani?
Biryani is a mixed rice dish known that came from South Asia. It's made with spices, rice and meat or vegetables.

In North India, it's traditionally associated with Mughlai Cuisine of Delhi and Awadhi Cuisine of Lucknow. In South India is traditionally associated with Hyderabadi Cuisine.
The word "Biryani" is derived from Persian languange.

Next on the Chicken Butter Massala. The chicken that cooked with some spices and butter tasted so nice, but it's a little salty if you didn't crave it with rice.
Masala is a mix spice that usually used in cooking and Massala is a type of curry.
So our Chicken Butter Massala was type of Indian chicken curry that been cooked using butter to made the taste more savor!

Some greeny vegetables dish that accompanied us that day was Palak Paneer.
Palak Paneer is a North Indian dishes that consist of Palak (spinach) and Paneer (Indian farmer's cheese) in a thick curry sauce based on pureed spinach with garlic and garam masala.
It's a popular vegetarian dish in India.
Maybe some of you will not like this one because of the cheese aroma that strongly smell. But we just loved the dish because the pureed spinach and the cheese as for me were so perfectly mixed.

Last but not least, the popular beverages if you enter India Restaurant was Lassi.
Lassi can served in Sweet or Salt and even in fruit flavor.
But we do ordered thicky-sauce dishes at all, so we try the sweet lassi. Tasted fresh, a little bit sourish.

Lassi is a popular yogurt based drink from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water and spices and sometimes fruit.
Traditional lassi as we known "salted lassi" is a savoury drink, sometimes flavored with ground and roasted cumin. However sweet lassi contain sugar or fruits instead of spices.
