Welcome to the world of Chinese Oriental Cuisine! But this is not made in China, states the quotes when you enter "Fook Yew" at Grand Indonesia.
This time because tired of walking and did some shopping at Grand Indonesia, then we choose to take some foot rest at Fook Yew because of having interest of the Oldies Chinese Interior Design.
PS : Eye Catching!
You can see the "Meow-meow Welcoming Cat" statue standing in the centre of the entering way, in Chinese we called it "Lucky go-Cat".
Mostly you can feel like you're in China because the Oriental Design that bring you back to the street food of China.
Let's see the food we ordered!
We ordered mostly light food to accompany us for foot rest, that were DIMSUM!
What I'm gonna says that they served a very satisfy dishes for me and friends, I love all the food serves by Fook Yew that day. :)
The Six Sense Xiao Long Bao really activated your palate to guess what flavour of each Xiao Long Bao they served.
Mostly delicious and I can taste the spicy and cheesy Xiao Long Bao from one of six color of the Xiao Long Bao.
Six Sense mean that they give you six different flavour.
The minched meat inside was perfectly well blend with the broth and the flavor of ginger.
Did I ever tell you that I'm a big fans of Creamy Salty Egg Bun?
Yes! And Fook Yew served the Pandanus Steam Bun with Salted Egg with Kaya inside that really melt me away...

Who loves dumplings?
Of course I do!
Basically, my favourite dumplings were the original one that you can find it at a lot of "Wonton Noodles" stalls.
But this one that served by Fook Yew were really something special and new to me.
The dumplings itself have different flavour per each different colour.
What makes the dumpling more special were the soy sauce soup that been boiled with chopped chilli and coriander with very smooth taste of sesame oil after taste.
That made the complete perfect flavour combination between the dumplings and the soup.
PS : don't drink too much because it's also combine with a bit of black vinegar, I hope you know the risk when you have it too much without the dumplings :D
In my hometown, usually we called Go Hiong Fun as "Chiong Fen".
Fook Yew served the Go Hiong Fun with some crispy fish and crab cake inside (deep fried process).
This one was lovely and delicious as well.
Next on our dessert choices, Fruit pancake served wise and balance on the fla sweetness and layered up with puff pastry combine with the Vanilla ice cream that more sweeter than the pancake.
So the flavour was really came together as one in the wise of sweetness level.
This was my favourite!
The not too sweet lemon grass jelly topped with lime sorbet that tasted very sour but so freshen our thirsty.
Why can I resist the delicious and healthy dessert after consume a lot of savoury food?
We're never missed the Chinese tea when we having meal on Chinese restaurant, because I think, that was the best companion after all. :D
After all, I was really satisfied of all the food that serves well on our table.
If my stomach can handle more, I won't leave the place because of the satisfying food.
Suitable for family gathering or friends gathering.
